In season 2021 Flying Finn Konsta Lappalainen, age of 20, entered to group of top GT World Challenge European Championship series drivers. Now in season 2022 he aims to continue from where he left in November 2022. His focus are now set for more podium positions in season 2022 which gets underway at April.
Konsta Lappalainen competes in 12 racing weekends which are to be driven in six months. Season srts from italian circuit of Imola and ends half year later in german circuit of Hockenheimring. His goals are set for the medal positions in GT World Challenge Endurance Silver Cup as well as ADAC GT Masters juniors.
In GT World Challenge Endurance series Lappalainen competes with South-Africal Stuart White and in ADAC GT Masters with austrian Mick Wishofer. Flying Finn continues in Swiss Emil Frey Racing for a second year in a row.
– Exactly a year ago I competed my first-ever international GT-season as Emil Frey Racing GT3-driver. After long and very taughtful season I was able to increase my pace which eventually was rewarded with podium position. From this point I’ll be continuing my career this year as my goals are set to utilize the experience I’ve collected. And because me and Emil Frey Racing has same intrests, we managed to get everything on paper with rapid pace. Therefore we’re both very happy that I’ll be continuing my career with familiar mechanics and engineers, told Lappalainen his contract.
– As my goals is to be the fastest driver of my team, I also know that I’ll be facing big challenges for season 2022; We know that GT World Challenge Endurace as well as ADAC GT Masters are both very high level competition series and therefore for success we have to make the best performance in each session. We’ve already ahd few days of testing in Spanish Valencia as well as in French Paul Ricard. We will do our best to defend the Silver Cup victory Swiss Emil Frey Racing drivers collect in season 2021, Lappalainen continues.
GT World Challenge European Championship series and ADAC GT Masters are the most appreciated GT-racing series in Europe. Lappalainen and all other drivers gets challenge from nine times MotoGP Champion, italian Valentino Rossi, who competes the series in Audi GT3 car. Furthermore as there are more than 21 teams signed for the series with two or three GT3-cars, there will be lots and lots of challenges for Lappalainen.
